The Farm has been owned by the McCowen family since the 1950s and for many years was a traditional mix supporting two dairies, beef, sheep and arable farming.
In the 1990s a programme of consolidation and diversification was carried out and the farm was extended to 1,125 highly productive acres.
Today the focus is on arable with further expansion created to include leisure projects, environmental resources and commercial and residential lettings.
The Bighton Estate and Farm lies in a countryside of hedgerows, coppiced woodland and meandering chalk streams in the heart of the beautiful Hampshire countryside.
It is an integral part of the picturesque village of Bighton and supports many community activities and initiatives.
The enterprise has steadily grown from 2001 by taking on more land through Farm Business Tenancies, long term and short term contract farming arrangements.
The majority of the land falls within a block, being the neighbouring Sutton Manor Farm, Breach Farm, Ranscombe Farm combining with Manor Farm to form an arable area of approximately 2,500 acres with the outlying units of Nutley Manor and Bridgets Farm.
The farm continues to offer modern secure commercial storage facilities in the form of an extensive range of outbuildings providing a home and business base to a diverse range of commercial companies.
Residential lettings are also available periodically, contact us for details.
